PLUMBING AND HEATING - Technical Information

Typical System Designs

Heating

Open Vented Heating Systems:
Utilising a traditional method of tank fed heating systems.

Sealed System (Pressuried) Heating Systems:  A modern installation method providing a sealed system has many advantages including the prevention of air (oxygen) in the system.  This is the most recommended system type.

These systems may be installed using all boiler types and manufactures.

Hot Water

Open Vented (gravity fed) Hot Water Systems:  This is a traditional installation.  Using water storage tanks in the loft space you can achieve a low pressure hot and cold supply to the property.
This supply may be boosted by the use of shower/booster pumps.

Un-vented (pressurised) Hot Water Systems:  A preferred installation method for new build and existing applications.  This water system utilises high pressure cold water from the incoming mains supply by storing and heating this water in a specially manufactured water cylinder.

Soil and Waste Services

Domestic Waste Services:  All types of domestic above ground drainage services.

Vulcathene:  Chemical resistant plumbing systems designed for use in laboratories within schools, universities, hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry.

Durapipe:  PVC-U:  Chemical resistant plumbing solutions for use in the transportation of portable water, acids and alkalis and corrosive liquids.

Friatherm/Friaphon:  Fast installation hot and cold water solutions for commercial applications and sound reducing drainage system offering outstanding sound insulation properties compared with standard un-insulated drainage products.
